Not only is this the first extensive UK tour for Eugene Chadbourne in at least a decade, this is the first opportunity to explore in depth a duo playing relationship with British drummer Roger Turner.
In past years Chadbourne has worked extensively in duos with drummers. Some of his most famous partnerships include The Jack and Jim Show with the late Jimmy Carl Black and Me and Paul with Paul Lovens. He has also performed many duets with the Dutch drummer Han Bennink; other drummers he has played in duet with include Ed Casady, Mani Neumeier, Kevin Norton, Lukas Ligeti and Andrea Centazzo.
Known as the purveyor of a vast selection of cover version interpretations from the rock, country, folk and jazz standard repertoire, Chadbourne has in recent years focused on performing his original songs and compositions dating back to the first set of solo guitar albums in the early '70s and including songs from Shockabilly albums as well as his politically charged series of collaborative albums done with various indie rock bands through the last three decades. He is looking forward to digging into this material with Turner on its own and as a springobpard for further improvisation.
Chadbourne will be performing on guitar and banjo as well as singing.
