Trevor Watts is one of the founder members of the Spontaneous Music Ensemble and because of that is one of the people responsible for the language of improvisation the way we know it now. He also developed more conventional groups like Moire Music and Moire Music Drum Orchestra. Currently he is writing music for a 12 piece group at the University of New Jersey in America for Feb 2010.
Veryan Weston was originally a classically trained pianist and has spent many years improvising as well as composing music.
Trevor and Veryan have been playing for many years now and developed one of the closest playing relationships around today. They play in a way that incorporates the full spectrum of music, not in a cliched improvising way, so the music has a very full and also structered sound to it. Which makes it very enjoyable for an audience.
Here are some photos from the gig..
They recently toured in Europe and recorded two broadcasts, one for Radio DRS3 in Switzerland, and one for radio Berlin Brandenburg at a festival in Berlin. Samples of the music can be sent on request.
